Gary is an unassuming Perfectionist. In his portraits he makes extraordinary effort to realise what he feels to be the essence of the sitter and in that he is, I believe very successful indeed. However, what makes his work so interesting and sometimes off beat is the combining of that search with a fine classical sensiblity and perfect technique which makes them work so well.
